Chances are, as a vacation rental host, you have plenty of competition for your short-term rental. You will need to offer elements that will make you stand out from competing vacation rentals. To help you do so, here are some aspects that will make it hard to resist your vacation rental.

1) The price is right

You must make sure the value of your rental outweighs the costs to entice potential renters. Not all guests are looking for the lowest price but looking for the best deals. Some elements that renters look for in a higher-priced rental are updated amenities, spaciousness, and location. Examples of updated amenities can include quality appliances and granite countertops. A close proximity to downtown or beautiful views make for a great location and will help you stand out from competing vacation rentals.

2) Cleanliness is key

Your vacation rental could be beautiful, but that will not matter if you have it not clean. If a guest checks in a find’s that the sheets are not clean and the dishes still have food on them, you can say goodbye to your 5-star rating. The importance of vacation rental cleaning cannot be understated.

3) Know your market

Know who typically stays in your short-term rental. If families tend to stay with you, make sure to highlight in your rental description nearby parks or perhaps family-oriented destinations such as museums or aquariums. If young adults tend to stay with you, highlight your proximity to nearby nightlife and trendy restaurants. This helpful information will not only attract individuals to your vacation rental but will also improve their overall experience!

4) Pictures do it justice

Take high-quality pictures that are up to date and accurate. Images taken with a good quality camera and in good lighting will show off your beautiful vacation rental. Make sure that your photos are up to date. This will prevent your renter from being surprised if the rental is not what they thought it would look like. Lastly, be sure that your pictures are not to deceiving. Some cameras with wide angle lense can create a room that looks very large but in actuality is small. Adding square footage in your description helps to avoid size deception.
