Average Cleaning Costs

As presented in the infographic, we find that the average cost of cleaning a one-bedroom property in Colorado is $50.97. This cost has seen a two-percent decrease from the previous quarter. Moving on, the average cleaning cost for a two-bedroom property in Colorado is $71.17. This price rose just under one percentage point. Finally, the average vacation rental cleaning cost for a three-bedroom property was just under one-hundred dollars at $99.87. This number saw the most dramatic change, dropping nearly five percent from the second quarter.

Historical Average

If you direct your attention to the bottom-right side of the infographic you will find the Historical Average graph. This graph represents the change, or lack thereof, of the average vacation rental cleaning costs in Colorado from Q3 2019 to Q3 2020. All three sizes of properties saw a steady rise in cleaning costs from Q3 2019 to Q1 2020. As the demand for travel and tourism changes, it is not abnormal to see a correlated change in cleaning costs. We all know that COVID-19 played a large role in eliminating travel for this year. Keep those external factors in mind when reviewing your finances for the year. Whether or not you’re still being affected by the pandemic, be prepared to pivot your business in a new direction. Successful cleaning services and hosts are prepared to alter their business models in order to remain afloat during trying times.

Airbnb Cleaning & Travel in Colorado

In the previous article surrounding Colorado, we mentioned the plentiful natural beauty that covers the state of Colorado. Pictured below is the beautiful Bear Lake Trailhead in the northern part of the state. As you can see, magnificent mountain ranges decorate the skyline. You can almost see how beautiful the air is in this mile-high wonderland. During the winter times of the year, make sure you come prepared with multiple layers of warm coats, mittens, and snow boots.

As a vacation rental cleaning service, you may find mud and dirt tracked into the house from the trails. When this happens, don’t worry, just follow this simple steps.

  1. 1. Let the mud dry onto the carpet.
  2. 2. Vacuum as much of the dried dirt as possible.
  3. 3. Use a clean white cloth to sponge the stain with a detergent solution.
  4. 4. Blot the affected area until the liquid has been soaked.
  5. 5. Repeat steps three and four until the stain has disappeared.

Like any mess, the best way to clean it is to prevent it entirely. If possible, encourage your Airbnb host or customers to provide guests with designated shoe areas. Preventing the introduction of muddy shoes and clothing articles into the home is the best way to keep things nice and clean. Browse our blog for more helpful cleaning tips and tricks.
