Q1 2021 Cleaning Costs
The infographic below is compiled based on completed projects on the TurnoverBnB platform from January 1-March 31, 2021.
First, let’s take a look at the national averages. The average price for cleaning a three-bedroom short-term rental property was $97.05, down over three percent from last quarter.
As you may recall from our last report, one- and two-bedroom properties saw minimal changes to their average prices.
It is important to remember that with changes in national averages you may need to also adjust your cleaning fees. Stay up-to-date on the statewide data when available in your area to help you get the most accurate estimate.
States with Highest and Lowest Short-Term Rental Cleaning Costs
As the TurnoverBnB data above reflects, the states with the highest and lowest average vacation rental cleaning costs for a three-bedroom property include:
Highest cleaning costs
1. Washington – $178.06
2. California – $146.38
3. Hawaii – $140.27
Lowest cleaning costs
1. Minnesota – $57.29
2. New Mexico – $63.33
3. Wisconsin – $67.35
Over the past year, short-term rental cleaning costs have remained constant for one-, two-, and three-bedroom properties. Three-bedroom units saw cleaning costs dip below $100 per property.
